Yudi Watanabe
Started his musical journey only just recently in 2012 at the age of 21. The talented and charismatic Brazilian with asian roots is a lover of the underground sound. Still improving his production techniques as he says so himself, we must say he dropped a fantastic EP called Piano Negro.
Yudi Watanabe wants to bring a mix of deep & tech house and blend it with nu disco. Piano Negro is all about that.
Piano Negro EP
First track, ‘Piano Negro’, starts with a soft rhythm and uplifting voals, morphing into a track with a damn fine disco bassline moving the track into whipping heights. The vocals together with the bassline keep up the energy during the entire track. Donna Summer on steroids!
‘My religion’ starts with a nice clap and and fast kicks. A deep bass moves in after a while together with male vocals in rap form. Moving further into track, a heavy bass takes over transforming this into a very energetic track. After listening to the first 2 tracks, it is obvious Yudi Watanabe is a fan of using different moods in tracks. Love the heavy and deep bass in this second track.
‘Bodyshine’ is a little more heavy on the synth. Dark textured bassline from ‘My Religion’ kicks in again during the track. Really nice bass line that makes it a catchy nu-disco groove.
