Digging deeper: Walt Cor P
Please tell us where you are from?
I’m from Santiago de Chile.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Music lover dedicated to mixing the sounds that inspire awareness.
When did you start DJing/producing and what was the trigger that got you started?
I started to produce and mix 5 about years ago. Maybe it sounds cheesy, but my trigger was the love for electronic music.
How has your music been influenced by other artists, musicians, or life in general?
From childhood on I was influenced by the Chilean folklore, going from René Inostroza to Los Jaivas. Later came disco, funk and rock music. In my rock period, I also got in touch with electronic music. It was the time when Radiohead released their sublime ‘OK computer”. Then again, I also believe that I am a true fan of music from the 80’s.
What can we expect from the mix you made?
I made this mix in order to make listeners feel a conscientious purpose, both for himself and for others. It begins with a reflexive moment and should end up moving head and feet. Dance I say!
Which recent tracks make you instantly jump around?
I have been listening quite a lot to the artist named ‘Hyenah’, who’s rack I always want to mix over and over again. The track, a bomb, is ‘The Idea feat. Lazarusman‘ in the Frankey & Sandrino remix.
