Next up in our Future Stars series is a talent from Karlsruhe, Germany: Lucas Platt aka Kassiopeia.

He started making music when he was 6 years old. Thought that piano is boring and fell in love with keyboards from Casio. Making more than only one typical sound with instruments kept him interested in electronic music. To master an instrument and use any for a track is the greatest thing. It is so impressive what options you have and the whole producer world is an area where you never want to stop searching for the kind of music which let your heart start pumping.

Where are you from?
I am from Karlsruhe. A growing sunny city in the south of Germany.

What do you find inspirational about where you are living?
There are a lot of beautiful places where I could get my energy and inspiration from. Like the “Schloßgarten” of Karlsruhe to name one. It is a famous place for a lot of tourists, but also for people who want enjoy electronical music and dance on the lawn. I had never been dancing that long time before and I fell in love with deep- and techhouse in the fastest time I could imagine. So the nature, sun and a lot of raves let me get deeper in the scene. Hidden but so nice organized. In the forest quiet in the dark or under a bridge. There is no limit in my hometown to find a place where you can start something beautiful, because my city has a strong community.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
My plan is it to get influenced by many people I will meet in the future. To make friends and to be part of a big community with same musical interests is a basic point for my next years. With a lot of time and discipline, I will reach my first releases in the next years and I am really excited to see how they will function. So let the future come.

How would you describe your sound and style?
My style is a mix of everything what I discover at the moment of from thing I have found 5 years ago on vinyl for example. Playful and spheric is a very important thing in my sets but I also love deep melodies and impressive basslines with a nice rhythm. I love tracks with a clear message and when they developed from a quietly thing to a big beast.

What can we expect from your mix?
I will show you a lot of emotional and really touching selection of tracks. From more ambient and chilly melodies into a change of strong beats with nice synth lines. Enjoy the tracks from a lot of impressive artists I really love to share with you.

What is your absolute favourite track of the moment?
I am so impressed by the incredible remix from Pablo Bolivar of Active Childs Johnny Belinda. So huge and warm sounds in there. My absolutely favourite at the moment!!!
