After a series of single releases throughout the summer, UK artist LEGATO finally unveils his full Midnight Rendezvous EP.
LEGATO, a UK-based producer known for his deep house and melodic electronic sound, has been gaining significant traction in the underground scene. After launching his career in 2019, LEGATO quickly made a name for himself with releases on esteemed labels such as Anjunadeep, Eton Messy, and Nightcolours. His music often blends emotive melodies with driving rhythms, proving popular among both listeners and industry heavyweights.
In 2024, LEGATO has taken a bold step by self-releasing his latest works in partnership with LabelWorx, including his highly anticipated EP, Midnight Rendezvous. Across four distinct but sonically consistent tracks, the EP showcases his evolving sound, incorporating live instruments like violin and mandolin, alongside his signature synth-driven style.
Released back in May, lead single “Either Way” drew inspiration from the UKG and future garage scenes of the early 2010s, signalling a new chapter in his creative journey. Singles “Stay” and “Harmony’s Embrace” followed, with the final title track now set for release 13 September.
“Midnight Rendezvous” is the final track and title of the EP, wrapping up my first project with LabelWorx. The song has these catchy Latin American vocals that give it a smooth, sultry feel. I’ve been mixing real-world sounds with synths throughout the project, and this track is no exception.
“You’ll hear a stunning guitar line and acoustic piano in the breakdown, along with synth lines and drum samples throughout. It’s a melodic house bop made for the club or just chilling at home with your headphones.” LEGATO
LEGATO’s recent releases have received support from key figures in the electronic music world, including Disclosure, Elderbrook and Lane 8. With his newfound creative freedom and a growing catalog of innovative tracks, LEGATO is positioned to make a lasting impact on the global electronic music landscape.
