Joanna Coelho releases her new track “Voltar” on Purple Fly Records

Joanna Coelho is one of the most exciting and emerging artists in the world of hard techno. After a successful 2024 with appearances at Sound Waves (Portugal), The End of the World (Spain), and even ADE (Amsterdam), 2025 is set to be the year where she takes her role as a producer to the next level.

For some time now, Joanna has been comfortably experimenting with everything related to hard trance, and “Voltar” is proof of that. This track, released on January 24 under the Hong Kong label Purple Fly Records – a label that has hosted artists like Ferry Costen, DJ Soda, and even Shaquille O’Neal – is a masterful blend of elements that come together perfectly to create an unparalleled sonic journey. It starts with a melody to which, gradually, up to three different kicks are added, giving it strength. After the first minute, which serves as a warm-up, a sweet yet aggressive female voice breaks through, leading to an elegant fake drop.

This voice belongs to the artist herself, giving the track a unique personality. The voice fades, and the kicks regain their power, building up until the track regains enough energy for the vocals to return. This happens twice more, but in the final drop, the fake drop is replaced by an agonizingly intense sound, marking the track’s end.

Another triumph for the Brazilian artist, who continues to break boundaries and add new elements to her craft. It’s no surprise that her tracks have received support from artists like 999999999, Shlømo, Dax J, and even Amelie Lens. “Voltar” is perfect for making a dancefloor vibrate and embark on a journey, but it’s not the only thing Joanna has in store.

The artist will kick off the year strongly in terms of production, as this track will be followed by an EP featuring up to four tracks on the Expell Your Demons label and much more. So don’t lose track of her, as she’s coming in strong and shows no signs of slowing down.
