Germany-born artist Till Krüger’s name was soon revered as a refined producer and live act when Sven Väth put two of his early productions on his annual compilation mix for Cocoon in 2010. Now with his upcoming second LP coming out this month “Twain”, we caught up with him to find out more about his background, and the LP itself…

Hey Till, great to connect with you!! Whereabouts in the world are you right now?
I am in southern Germany at the moment. Enjoying life and waiting for spring…
Would you say where you are based is a big inspiration for you musically?
Not really. I need to feel comfortable making music. This can be anywhere.
How did you first get into electronic music? Who did you admire when you first got into it?
It started with going out to clubs right at the end of my school time. There was this big minimal hype back then. That was not really for me… . Detroit Techno was my thing 🙂
You have a new LP coming out in May called “Twain” – how did the LP come about and what were your goals when you started?
The whole project grew from one first track and evolved to this complete album. I wanted the album to be a back-to-back playlist of ambient pieces and tracks with drum beats and also wanted to place a piano in every tune. All in all my intention was to make a timeless record which you can listen to everywhere at any time.
It’s my second album 🙂
What is your own musical identity, what makes your music unique do you hope?
I always try to make narrative music – so hopefully the songs will tell a story and take the listener on a journey.
What was the last LP you bought?
Think it was one from “calibre”.
What else have you got coming up/are you working on?
I am always working on new music. Some of it will be released this year and some next year 🙂
What hopes and dreams do you have for the rest of 2023?
Stay healthy, make some music and spend time with my family.
Till Krüger LP “Twain”will be released on Quite Needless on 26th May
Thank you.
