US House music icon Teddy Douglas, renowned for his work with Basement Boys and Jasper St. Co., is gearing up to release his debut solo album, ‘I’m Here’, on the equally iconic label, Nervous Records label. This cool collection showcases Teddy’s most inventive and sonically varied work to date. It presents a vibrant mix of profound tracks and infectious grooves that transcend his well-known soulful Baltimore House roots, incorporating elements of Funk, Rock, and Jazz, while still brimming with Teddy’s classic House and Disco sound, and that essential Baltimore kick, that his fans love.
The album features a stellar lineup of international vocalists, including Brit soulful queen, Pauline Taylor, Danish Folk and Blues sensation Richard Farrell, Chicago Hip House pioneer Fast Eddie, the legendary Ultra Naté, rising Brit Soul star Sipho, and Buckshot from Blackmoon under his BDI Thug moniker and “B Mo” Moultrie. From the shimmering Disco House rendition of The Frontline Orchestra’s ‘Don’t Turn Your Back On Me’ with soulful diva Pauline Taylor, and the smoking underground heat of ‘House Music’ with Fast Eddie on the mic, through to the downtempo rocky vibe of ‘Help!’ with Sipho’s gravelly vocal, ‘I’m Here’ offers a little something for all tastes. Great to hear Teddy doing Teddy and so much more as this album stands as a testament to his exceptional ability to craft memorable songs and tasteful covers, no matter what the genre.
