HNQO drops an intoxicating Detroit EP

Are you ready for this? We’ve been playing HNQO’s upcoming release over and over again in the past week. A great privilege it is, having sneak previews.

Hailing from Curitiba (Brazil), music was his escape for some time, it bacame his passion and now it’s his life. Inspired by the loose rhythms of Kool Herc and Grandmaster Flash, the experimentalism of Roman Flugel, the raw energy of KINK and the spaced-out hypnotism of Jeff Mills, Henrique Oliveira aka HNQO runs his own label Playperview. It’s an essential outlet for contemporary club sounds that both DJs and dancers adore. Playperview is a labour of love and showcases emerging Brazilian talent at the same time as championing established great artists. The label already has a worldwide fan base and like everything HNQO does, it is riddled with a charming energy that is buoyant, underground and appealing.

An intoxicating release coming up

Up next HNQO comes with a sublime new release on his own imprint. It finds him once again stirring up a fresh new take on dance music. His new EP ‘Detroit’ features three intoxicating cuts, one of which comes with an edit from Rai Knight.

The title track, ‘Detroit’ is a six minutes lasting sci-fi house music cut with great swirling melodies and slithering synths that really get your hair standing on the end. On ‘Detroit’, HNQO serves supreme infectious tech-house.

‘Wrong Play’ is wicked with its deep synth chords topped with smooth & seductive jailing melodies. This one is haunting & spellbinding. Last but not the least there is ‘Save Me’. Straighten your back for this one as it is an excellent eight-minute affair with deep shuffling drums, cosmic melodic patterns and dry hits that all take you on a trip to the edge of the galaxy.

The latter sure is our favorite. It will cause some shuffling on dance floors for sure!
