A little while ago we were blown away by a real bad ass track from the French Catalan electro band Gipsy Family. The track, with vocals from Linda Lamb, is called West of Lily and still gives us goosebumps. The heavy pounding bass and dark and heavy synth loops, combined with the haunting and hypnotizing vocals from Linda Lamb make it timeless.
A few months ago we had a short chat Jean about their release. Nothing was decided back then as they were still in talks with labels. Now it’s finally out on Colina records. Ten amazing tracks on Gipsy Family’s “Echosystems”. They did not miss momentum as many of the industry big league players love their music:
Laurent Garnier: “I really love all the tracks”
Rone: “Beautiful work, Bravo” ,
Eggo: “Very Nice LP , Bravo”
So who are we to disagree with these statements. We think all tracks are phenomenal on this release. Filled with blissful synthesizer arpeggio lines and swirling chords. Dark electro sounds like we are being chased in the middle of Ridley Scott’s 1982 Blade Runner. So tune in and enjoy the intoxicating, all spine-tingling breakdowns, swirling electronics and tech-tinged groove.
For us here at Tanzgemeinschaft this is already a huge highlight of 2016. Press play and enjoy the previews or grab your copy »
