Tell us about your journey into electronic music, when did you first fall in love with it?

I think my first memory is of a holiday with my parents when I was 3 years old when I fell in love with electronic music for the first time.

It was in the summer of 2002 when we went to Ibiza for a holiday and at that time there were many CD stores of the representative clubs and labels in the old town of Ibiza. Loud music has always attracted me and there are some pictures of me dancing with big headphones on in front of a store at the age of 3 already.

So you can definitely say, that I like the groovy electronic sounds for a long time now.

Since last summer you are a resident in Ibiza at Balearica Music. Can you say something about the project and how you like it so far?

Yes, since last summer you can listen to my own show, “Groovy Session”. It’s on air every second Thursday at midnight in rotation with Supernova (IT) on Balearica Music.

I‘m definitely proud and very happy to be part of Anna Tur’s new project. After my tenure as a resident at Ibiza Radio One, it‘s a further step in my young career as an artist. Especially, the main idea of Balearica Music convinced me to support this project.

The goal is to get back to the roots of why Ibiza has become one of the most influential places in music and to get away from commercialism and to let the music speak again, as it should be.

How do you see the change in Ibiza, especially in the last years through corona?

The first thing to say is that Ibiza has a very slow pace of life and the island slows you down very quickly once you arrive there.

The corona pandemic and the closure of the clubs have of course left their mark and have forced the island to change faster. 2019 & 2020 were nevertheless very visitor-strong years, it has shown that the island has a lot to offer besides an attractive club scene and music history.

The last season of course came along with a bang due to the reopening of the clubs. There was no show to which I have been, that wasn’t sold out.

Some of the clubs were too crowded, like DC-10 which has also attracted considerable criticism on the island. On the other hand, new clubs like Chinois at Marina Botafoch or Akasha at Las Dalias were very well received by the visitors, which points to a positive development of the club culture in Ibiza in general.

Unfortunately, my favourite club Privilege, which has an insane history, didn’t manage to reopen in 2022.

Currently, there are rumours that maybe Carl Cox could set up at Privilege his old home Space which would be a very comprehensible move.

What was your favourite track of the year 2022?

Definitely the comeback from my musical friend Just2 on Michael Bibi‘s label Solid Grooves called, “Wasted”. An absolute banger which I also have played many times in my radio show.

When can we see releases from you?

I used the winter to work on various projects, I think a part of it will be released soon. Stay tuned.

What would you like to achieve as an artist in 2023 and beyond?

I want to continue to offer my listeners, whether live or on the radio, a good time and especially I want to try to inspire other people through my music.

I‘m also looking forward again this year to meeting many artists and working together with them.

Through my father, who was the initiator to protect my name as a trademark, there are good perspectives for the future to grow in other areas apart from music.

I’m really looking forward to the years ahead to keep on doing what I love the most – playing music, that brings people together.

Thank you.
