fryhide, a bastion of vital melodic house and tech
HOSH has made a great job of taking the brave step away from Diynamic Music: now running his own fryhide label, it has become a bastion of vital melodic house and tech while also serving up special parties around the globe. After events all around Europe and beyond he recently landed at Bestial Beach Club in Barcelona during OFFSonar and make a real impact despite the competition.
The venue itself is a magical one with palm trees, a spacious terrace and great views of the sea. Mapping of visuals adds another element to the killer soundtrack once the hot sun fades and the day turns to night. That was a special moment that found the mood change and the mischief levels rise, while the music got that little bit deeper and darker, too.
Providing the sounds were artists who have helped to establish the label such as Tone Depth, Simao and 1979, while live shows from Tim Engelhardt and Groj really offered some emotive, uplifting sounds that were class from start to finish. Tracks like Tone Depth’s own Layers and Federico Locchi – Magunda were big moments that really got great reactions from the energetic and music-loving crowd.
Of course, many of them were here to see HOSH himself and the big man stepped up and delivered in style. He built the mood with a great sense of pace and dropped cult cuts from DJ Jose and DJ Boom, while Kollectiv Turmstrasse – New Star was a real high point that will live long in the memory of those involved.
HOSH himself stepped up and delivered in style
This was a classy party from start to finish, with a friendly, welcoming crowd who knew how to get down. HOSH’s own musical style also shone through and proved he has very much found a great new niche in his post Diynamic world.
