Extrema Outdoor did not save on quality music
Extrema Outdoor took place from June 7 until June 9 in a small town near Hasselt, Belgium. Already it’s 9th edition in Belgium.
Unfortunately, we were only able to attend on Sunday of this fabulous 3-day electronic music festival. The setting of the festival is simply amazing with seven stages well placed near a small lake. The line-up was one of the best to be found overall line-ups we have seen thus far. With a strong focus on techno, progressive and melodic techno it was an edition that we call heaven on earth as we believe it focusses on the true electronic music lover and connoisseur.
Over 60.000 festival-goers attended this edition with a line-up that contained artists like Amelie Lens, Kolsch, Sven Väth, Hernan Cattaneo, Tale of Us, Satori, Stephan Bodzin, Michael Mayer, Jan Blomqvist & band, &ME and many many more.
Kolsch B2B with all artists on stage
We attended Extrema Outdoor on Sunday, a special day as Kolsch hosted his own IPSO stage. What made it so special is that the master himself played back 2 back with every artist on his stage throughout the day and ending it in style by himself. His IPSO stage hosted artists by the likes of ANNA, Michael Mayer, Patrice Baumel & Tiga.
Jan Blomqvist
It was an amazing day with many highlights. One of them surely was Jan Blomqvist & band playing a truly amazing set with most of his sing-along tracks. It was a goosebump generator for sure. We are pretty sure the stage set had a lot to do with it. Standing on a small beach with the kind of melodic techno Jan Blomqvist is playing created a summer feeling (although we had no clear blue skies).
Tale of Us, beyond believes
We’ve seen Tale of Us quite some times already. But today it felt special. Maybe it was because we got so close but that was not the case. Their set was simply extraordinary. Heating up the crowd, creating a sultry atmosphere. Loved it all the way.
&ME
Known for great tracks as there are The Rapture Pt1 & Pt2, the Black Coffee reinterpretation of his wonderful “Muyè”, and many many more. He played a fantastic set, all the time with a smile on his face enjoying the sunset hour.
Emanuel Satie
He has a string of awesome hits under his belt. His rework of DJ Le Roi’s “I get deep” led him to the top of the Beatport Charts some time ago. He played the days before right up before papa Sven Väth, but we had a nice chat with this great artist ahead of the event. Check it out.
Extrema Outdoor 2020 surely will be on our calendar as it is one of the best festivals attended to date.
