Laure is an emerging artist from the Parisian techno scene. From IDM to Industrial Techno, with a touch of Acid, she makes music with real emotion, and her tracks have been supported by artists like Kerstin Eden, Joseph Capriati, Paul Nineham, Jon Connor and Paco Osuna.
Her latest release is “A Confused Mind” EP. As the name suggests, it explores the territory where good and evil are difficult to distinguish, where each decision seems impossible to make, and each happy moment eventually turns into loneliness. As a cathartic moment, this EP reflects both the determinism of certain periods of life, and the mad desire to get out of it.

Thanks for talking to us today – how has the year been for you so far?
Great, thank you! 2022 has been the year of opportunities and new learnings for me. I focused a lot on DJing and recording podcasts, besides producing; and I got a lot of great gigs, where I was able to connect and share the kind of dance music I love.
First of all, we want to get to know you “from the beginning”. How did your history with music begin?
My mother has taught me the love for music, especially Techno music. During my engineering studies, I went to a lot of raves and festivals, looking for hard and emotional dance music. One day I realized that it was possible to create and produce with minimal equipment; this is where my journey began. Since then, I’ve been learning and working to be able to create pieces of music that people could connect with.
For you, what is the magic of music? The thing that makes it such a big part of your life?
To me, music is cathartic and tells a story. I am into techno, industrial techno, IDM, with a touch of acid and always a hypnotic, emotional and nostalgic feeling. This is where I find myself closing my eyes and enjoying the harshness of my emotions.

Are there any artists in particular who you are finding inspiring at the moment?
I absolutely love Elise Massoni right now. The energy of her sets and the originality and quality of her productions are stunning. Also, I am inspired by Ellen Allien, Bjarki, and Antigone. Such great DJs and producers.
Your new EP A Confused Mind “explores a territory where good and evil are difficult to distinguish” Do you feel this balance of light and dark is important when producing techno?
Is it possible to feel and enjoy any light if we don’t have dark moments? In this EP, I wanted to express the happiness of a moment that was already over when I wrote it. And then the sadness resulting from the end of this period, sharing really intimate emotions with my crowd.
Similarly, is adding elements of melancholia important to you when producing music? Why do you think that’s an emotion you gravitate towards?
This has always been the type of music I vibe for. When I was a little girl, I was already listening to melancholic music, replaying my CDs multiple times to feel it again and again. This is also, in other arts, the kind of emotions I need to feel, for example in painting or dance. I think this is simply a part of me and I’ve been needing my dose for as long as I can remember.
What does your current studio set up look like? Lots of hardware, or are you a mainly ‘out of the box’ type producer?
I do everything directly in Ableton, so I can produce anywhere at any time, I love the freedom and the accessibility of that way of producing. In the long term, I would love to have more hardware, and maybe one day create a Live show.
What is the best advice you ever got as an artist?
Consistency is the key. This is a process, and as long as you keep working, and making your art with your heart, you will eventually achieve your goals.
What does the rest of 2022 look like for Laure?
I have multiple projects going on, with some French labels, that I hope you will discover at the end of 2022. Also, I have gigs in September in Paris and Lille. See you there!
Thank you
