Once so often you come across something very special. Something that’s of the beaten track. The Sunderland (UK) based producer Jo Howard who goes under the moniker Bird of Paradise created something special. You’ll hear that he is not your usual electronic music producer. With a background in music that goes way back in different styles and genres you will surely hear the impact on this sublime release. It’s a release that sounds totally different than we are used to listen to over here at Tanzgemeinschaft. We are loving it.
His upcoming release Pulse Generator containing 2 originals and 2 remixes will hit the digital shelves pretty soon. The EP will see the light of day via the Join Our Club imprint. The imprint is know to bring work that sounds a little unexpected from emerging and established artists. Bird of Paradise definitely fits in with Pulse Generator.
But before the official release we are honored to premier one of the sublime remixes.
Bird of Paradise – Pulse Generator (Kieran Holden remix)
Kieran Holden takes control over the melodic & moody & slow burning title track. He gives it a cheerful and lively twist making it an infectious & acidic 80’s electro alike gem. No pumping beats, no speedy bmp’s, but a very nice mid-tempo slice of groove.
Do stay tuned for the rest of Pulse Generator as the other tracks are worth to wait for. The second original ‘Alone Again’ and the remix from People Get Real also can be find in the mid range tempo. The original consists out of a pulsating bass line and shuffling percussion, while the label bosses People Get Real cut up the original and created a chuncky version of it.
