Alexander Aurel – Room 101 contains a big variety of current tech house music
With his EP “Room 101” Alexander Aurel is the owner of the Berlin-based Heinz Music imprint’s 57th Release. He delivers three original tech house tracks and a stunning remix by Stefano Noferini.
The title track “Room 101” is a collaboration with Alexander’s friend and clarinet teacher Franky. They met 12 years ago at the club Airport Würzburg. Both recorded Franky’s clarinet in a session, but Aurel finished the original mix years later after this recording inspired him again. The sound of the clarinet is the main and lead sound of the whole track, which should hypnotize the audience, but it also should be a guarantor for a big party.
Stefano Noferini used the clarinet recordings to get a groovier remix with a summer feeling. Many percussion sounds and real shaker loops are part of the remix tool until the breakdown of the track. In this part, he builds up the clarinet sounds to a musical explosion and dips into the usual house beats. Tech house par excellence!
“Run Faster” is made by Alexander Aurel himself in two versions with different moods. After Aurel played a DJ set at a Heinz Label Night on two different floors, the Hopper and Kiosk floor. This night inspired him so much in order to create the two mixes. Hopper Mix comes with atmospheric bass sounds and pads, but with a hands-up feeling. The other mix, Kiosk is a deeper version with the character of a tech house tool.
