Airbas dropping some cool vibes

Airbas dropping a great guest mix

North Italian DJ Producer Roberto Sant has been producing as Airbas since 2012. His music joins the dots between Electro-Pop, Nu Disco, Deep, Progressive House and Melodic Tech. His productions have graced labels such as Blackboard, Diversions, Hoomidaas, Iconyc and Voltaire Music to name a few, and have been championed by the likes of Nora En Pure, Oxia, Chus & Ceballos, EDX, Ruben De Ronde and many more.

This great artist provided us with a great guest mix and answered some short-fire questions. Enjoy!

Thank you for the great guest mix. What can our followers expect from the mix?

Thank you, it’s really a pleasure to share it with you and your followers! The mix is a selection of fresh music from the Progressive House world, including some of my favourite tracks of the moment and also my latest track ‘Blue Eyes’ feat. Aves Volare, which has just been released on Sirup.

Tell us a bit about your latest release Blue Eyes.

It’s my second collaboration with the singer-producer Aves Volare after last year’s release, ‘Hold, which also featured a fantastic remix by the duo Two Are. ‘Blue Eyes’ has a deep, melodic tech vibe with a cinematic feel with a stunning vocal from Aves, who really brings character to the track. I hope you like it!

Airbas ‘Blue Eyes’ featuring Aves Volare is out now on Sirup Music.

Back in time. When & how did you first get involved with music?

I bought my first turntables and vinyl in the mid 90’s when I was 16. From there my passion first continued to develop as a DJ, and then later as a producer. My Airbas project started in 2012 and continues to grow.

Is there any work you’re particularly proud of?

Yes, tracks including “Circadian Groove”, “One Way’” or “The Only Reason” have all been quite successful and fill me with pride.

In your view, what were/are your biggest challenges?

A good question! Every time it’s a different challenge. Even making ‘Blue Eyes’ itself was quite a complex production for me, as having been gifted with such a strong vocal, I needed to come up with the right soundtrack to compliment it. I won’t even list the number of versions I had to make before the song was ready for my team!

What inspires you?

When constructing my tracks, I always start with harmony, melancholy harmonies inspire me a lot, and my research and experimentation never stop.

Are there things that make you happy?

Seeing important DJs playing my tracks in clubs or festivals gives me a lot of motivation and puts a smile on my face.

Thank you.
