AFFKT makes a triumphant return to Renaissance with his highly anticipated EP, marking his first full release with the renowned label.

The EP showcases AFFKT’s versatility through three original tracks. From the pulsating 4/4 beats of “Sopasopa” and “Moronga” to the eclectic blend of Apache-breaks in “Arpichulo”, AFFKT draws inspiration from his early electronic influences.
Reflecting on the production process, AFFKT shares, “All the tracks are connected to my early electronic influences, and ‘Moronga’ actually reminds me a bit of Nathan Fake’s ‘The Sky Was Pink’. The ultimate goal was to infuse each song with boundless energy and profound emotion. Additionally, it was a joy to revisit my drum & bass roots with ‘Arpichulo’ after spending over a decade producing as part of the duo Malsum.”
As the cherry on top of this already stellar project, 1979 steps in to remix the title track “Sopasopa”.
Embracing the challenge, 1979 remarks, “Remixing AFFKT’s track was a blast! Usually, I approach remixes by crafting an entirely new piece using only a few elements from the original. However, Marc’s sounds were so captivating that I couldn’t resist sampling everything to create my version. I aimed for a functional, minimalistic vibe, perfect for commanding the grand stages of big festivals. Being part of this vibrant and delicate EP on Renaissance was a true pleasure!”
With “Sopasopa”, AFFKT delivers an EP brimming with his signature style and musical prowess, while 1979 adds his own magic to the mix. This collaboration between two exceptional talents is a testament to the vibrant and ever-evolving world of electronic music.
