Alex Sproud
It took us a while to do this review. But better late than never as good music does not have an expiration date. Last summer we received a nice message from Bielefeld (DE) based Nils Helmig who goes under the moniker Alex Sproud telling us he has an upcoming release. By the time we weren’t aware of any record label but it seems Alex Sproud’s EP ‘Molori’ has been released by Kellerbeats Records. It might be a small label but we believe in the power of small. Everyone needs to start somehow and if everyone believes in their own actions and does things with passion, all will eventually pay-off for sure.
Molori
Molori contains 3 originals all with a distinctive sound. The title track ‘Molori’ is a deep tech-house affair with a great melodic rhythm that’ll take all the way to the end. ‘Change of Time’ has more trancy hooks and contains dramatic chord stabs, topped with a layer of a fat rolling beat. Last but not least comes ‘Gunuya’. This track continues were ‘Molori’ left of. Deep melodic combined with what feels like horn sounds & roaring synth leads make this one an all-night stomper.
