It’s been nothing short of an incredible debut year for The Archer and his new imprint, There Is A Light. Having launched the project back in January with his breakthrough EP Lonely Dream, the LA-based DJ, producer and label head has been honing his A&R skills ever since, and now boasts a substantial catalogue of top-class releases from some of the most exciting names on the international house and techno circuit.
With a slew of new music penned for release over the course of 2022 and beyond, The Archer continues to promise diversity, quality and integrity in everything the label puts out, as he aims to transcend language through melody, rhythm and art.
We managed to have some time for a quick fire round of questions and deliver a mix fille with chill/Dance music.

Where are you from?
I live in Los Angeles, California.
What’s your favourite place on earth?
Anywhere I am. I live in the moment, not the past or the future.
Your favourite music genres as a DJ?
I play good music in any genre – house, techno and everything in between.
What’s your most guilty pleasure, music-wise?
Probably bass house. I do love a dirty house bass line that I would play out because it’s just too much (like truffle.)
What’s the best song to sing while you’re getting ready for a night out?
There is a Light that Will Never go out by the Smiths
Which track did you recently rediscover?
I recently rediscovered Supernova’s Plastic Jungle – Chus & Ceballos remix. It still slays
What’s the most embarrassing moment that happened during a DJ set?
I left my headphones at a gig one night (the next DJ asked to borrow them and never gave them back and/or I didn’t ask for them back) and the next night, I got a last-minute gig to play a closing set. I needed headphones and asked the many DJs there if I could borrow theirs. No one would help. Out of nowhere this DJ shows up and said I heard you need to borrow headphones. It happened to be MK – Marc Kitchen. He heard about my problem and went all the way to his room to get his. Such a nice human and what a story! Of course, I crushed it and was offered the opportunity to come back and play. Kindness always wins!
What is the best advice you ever got?
Play what you love
Which hype is overrated?
Tech house reworks of old hits
What keeps you awake at night?
music
What’s your favourite insult?
I don’t like insults. Sorry.
What makes you happy?
Music and giving
What made you laugh out loud in the past weeks?
Myself
A dirty secret nobody knows?
That there is a little boy inside of me that wants to love and be loved (he’s stuck in my right earlobe currently.)
Thank you.
